Darjeeling Tea Tourism Package

5 Days
Our Guest Rating

Tea Tourism is a relatively new concept worldwide, and Darjeeling is taking the lead in this area. And why not? After all, Darjeeling is the Mecca of tea and sprawling estates producing what we know as the “Champagne of Teas,” to the world’s delight. There are 80-odd operational tea gardens in Darjeeling that span thousands of acres on open hill slopes. There’s something unique and serene about spending a few days in a tea garden resort.

What exactly is tea tourism? Imagine taking a break for a few days at the vast tea garden. You will stay in a Bungalow, typically the residence of a British tea planter built during the old colonial time. The bungalow retains the antique furnishing and aura of the colonial days and is set up amidst a lush garden within the estate. The food served in tea resorts are typically comprised of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables from the garden in the backyard.

Above all you wake up and sip a cup of the finest aromatic tea plucked fresh from the gardens, a tea brand that the world knows. As you stroll around the garden and talk to gardeners, observe how they expertly pluck two leaves with bud and get to know their lives. Additionally you can take a look and learn about the tea processing in the factory , where some of the best teas in the world are withered, rolled, dried, sorted, and packaged.

Tea Tourism Activities:

The best season to visit Darjeeling is during early summer and spring season. There are many fun-filled activities you can enjoy in Darjeeling, especially if you want nature. Staying in a tea bungalow or tea resorts will transport you to the British countryside, where tea gardens and hills will surround you with a cool breeze. All of the food served here is grown on the farm and 100% organic. You’ll wake up with a cup of freshly brewed tea plucked from the garden. So some of the main activities you can enjoy in a darjeeling tea garden resort are mentioned below:

  • Tea Garden Walk
  • Tea Tasting
  • Picnic day out with fishing or birding
  • Tea Processing observation
